Located in our Longmont office, we use the innovative Marco OPD Wavefront system. This instrument uses the most advanced digital technology available to help us better evaluate your unique vision needs. Far more than just a “glasses” examination, this instrument gives us a comprehensive understanding of your complete visual system and optical pathway. Using information from the OPD Wavefront system, we can make better recommendations to help you see more clearly. This test is useful in helping the doctors determine if a different prescription is needed when patients complain of night vision problems.
The Optomap Exam is fast, painless, and comfortable. Nothing touches your eye at any time. It is suitable for the entire family. Under normal circumstances, dilation drops might not be necessary, but if dilation is recommended, the doctors will use this scan as a road map for further evaluation. The capture takes less than a second, and the images are available for immediate review for your doctor to discuss with you. You are able to see exactly what the doctor sees.
With Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) our doctors can now diagnose eye diseases such as macular degeneration (AMD), glaucoma, and diabetic eye disease much sooner. Also located in our Longmont office, patients may be sent for this test if the doctor suspects early Macular Degeneration (AMD), glaucoma, or if actively being monitored and treated for these conditions. We communicate these findings with your primary care physician and other eye specialists to coordinate care.
